General Description:

  • Eurotech presentation on DuraCOR™ Central Units

  • The Eurotech DuraCOR™ 1100 is a standard system platform designed for demanding mobile and vehicle installations. It combines a powerful freely programmable PC with advanced in-vehicle peripheral and bus connectivity.

The DuraCOR™ 1100 is based on a standard PC architecture compatible with Linux, WinCE and Windows XPe operating systems, which shortens time-to-market and enables technology to be leveraged to multiple projects.

The DuraCOR™ 1100 combines in-vehicle communications interfaces with wired 10/100Mbit Ethernet and WiFI. 10 serial ports and an isolated CAN-bus can connect to devices, sensors and other subsystems in the vehicle such as the PCN-1000 passenger counter. Other peripheral devices can interface to the DuraCOR 1100 using three USB ports.

Wireless connectivity using CDMA 2000 or TETRA can be achieved using external terminals connecting to the DuraCOR 1100 serial ports. A GSM/GPRS or GSM-R wireless device can be externally interfaced through a serial port or integrated into the system on a standard PC/104 module. A 12-channel parallel-tracking Fastrax iTrax03 GPS receiver provides timing and location of the moving vehicle in real time.

All Eurotech systems feature a unique "system monitor" that increases system operating reliability and safety. Internal operations are controlled by the intelligent system monitor. Temperature and supply voltage monitoring combined with system device management is autonomously handled by the "system monitor" microprocessor and the host PC can access temperature, voltage and status log data. An I2C-bus port is available for external access to the internal monitor bus. Through this I2C-port diagnostics and service tasks can be easily performed, even though the system is powered off.

The DuraCOR 1100 meets the requirements of the EN50155 standard with a wide operating temperature range (-40°C/+70°C) as well as resistance to humidity as well as shocks and vibrations commonly encountered in mobile vehicle installations.

To improve the mechanical durability, locking circular vehicle grade watertight connectors are used. The WLAN antenna uses a locking R-SMA connector to increase reliability. The back side panel of the system is dedicated for device I/O, service and utility I/O are located under a protective sealed cover. Maintainance interfaces include: I2C-bus, VGA output, keyboard and mouse. No fixed system peripheral device connectors need to be removed to access the utility I/Os.
