The ZEUS is an ultra low-power EPIC form factor compatible
single board system computer based on the IntelŽ 520MHz or
416MHz PXA270 embedded RISC processor. The PXA270 is an
implementation of the ARM compliant, Intel XScaleŽ
microarchitecture combined with a comprehensive set of
integrated peripherals including, a flat panel graphics
controller, DMA controller, interrupt controller, real
time clock and multiple serial ports.
The ZEUS board with its extensive wireless peripheral
interfaces, PC/104 expansion bus and wide input range
vehicle class power supply makes this system computer
ideal for power sensitive embedded mobile and vehicle
communications and telemetry applications. This board has
been designed to take full advantage of the power saving
modes of the PXA270 processor and other onboard peripherals
to achieve an incredible 2W maximum power consumption
(excluding wireless modules). The ZEUS also supports a
very low power standby-mode of just 100mW.
The ZEUS board includes an 18-bit colour VGA TFT/STN
flat panel graphics controller with LVDS support,
onboard soldered SDRAM and resident Flash, Dual high-speed
10/100baseTx Ethernet, isolated CAN 2.0 port, 7 serial ports,
I˛C controller, dual USB1.1 host controller,AC97 audio/codec,
CF+ and SD-card slot, and a standard PC/104 bus
expansion connector. This bus can be used for analogue
and digital I/O expansion.
Cellular interfaces can be used to communicate in various
GSM/GPRS, CDMA or iDEN networks worldwide. The robust ZigBee wireless
communication interface is ideal for near-range Ubi-comp sensor interfacing
in industrial or vehicle installations. Zigbee offers many benefits
to other wireless interfaces due to its decentralized mesh-network
topology, reliable communication protocol and low power consumption. The
low power 12-channel Fastrax iTrax03 parallel-tracking fast-fix GPS-receiver
guarantees precise navigation in difficult urban environments.
The ZEUS is supported with Development Kits for the leading
embedded operating systems including Windows CE 5.0 (Q1/2007),
embedded Linux. Eurotech also provides support for the RedBoot™
bootloader, boot manager and also serves as a T-FTP download tool for
embedded Linux applications. To speed up the process of system integration,
you can purchase individual cables and various cellular modem adapter
modules used within the Development Kits.
