General Description:

The Eurotech IO/MS mass storage interface board brings reliable mass storage into embedded stacking PC/104 systems. The module is stackable and complies to the height specification of the PC/104 specification. The 44-pin IDE interface sonnector is located in the same position as on all Eurotech CPU modules making either cable or stacking connection to the CPU module IDE port easy.

The IO/MS is available with either a 2mm 90 degree PCB connector for 2,5" HDD interfacing or with a ATA-IDE CF-card slot. The HDD is secured to the board with 4 mounting screws. The hard disk configuration jumpers are easily accesible using two 2mm jumpers next to the PC/104 bus connector. A jumper for configuring the CF-card as master/slave is located on the side of the module.

For automotive and vehicluar applications requiring high capacity mass storage the IO/MS can be supplied with a factory installed 20GB Hitachi extended temperature range high reliability HDD. This HDD is manufactured to withstand temperature as well as shock and vibration stress commonly encountered in transportation, logistics and outdoor installations. Eurotech has qualified the RoHS compliant 20GB Hitachi Endurastar™ HDD to be used in general purpose vehicle systems, 20GB HDD specification page available here. Systems requiring high storage capacity and low temperature operation down to-30°C a new 50GB automotive HDD is available for the IO/MS module, 50GB -30 to +85°C rated automotive HDD specification page available here.
