The CPU-1851 is an embedded PCI-104 CPU module PC/104Plus compliant. The processor is the Ultra Low Voltage Celeron® 400MHz with its Intel®815E chipset with 100MHz maximum bus frequency, that has a low power consumption and is suitable for embedded applications. A SODIMM memory socket is integrated onboard, enabling up to 512MB of SDRAM to be installed on a SODIMM. The processor does not require any fan cooling to operate within the 0 to 50 °C temperature range, special heatsinks are available for operation in extended temparature ranges. Additional forced airflow can be achieved by using the Eurotech Mistral PC/104+ fan board directly mounted on top of the CPU module.

The CPU module implements all the standard interfaces including 4 USB 1.1 ports, a fast Ethernet interface (10/100Mbps), 2 serial ports, parallel port, floppy port, analog monitor port supporting resolutions from VGA to UXGA, a LVDS LCD-panel interface, AC97 interface, auxiliary power, keyboard and mouse and a Ultra DMA IDE controller that supports any type of IDE Flash devices (DiskonModule, CompactFlash and 2,5" Flash Disk). This CPU Module includes a hardware Watchdog timer and a Real Time Clock (external backup battery).

The module's embedded BIOS is located in a 1MB Flash EPROM and is re-programmable onboard. The set-up parameters are stored in a non-volatile memory to allow the module to operate without a battery.

• Set-Up in Flash in order to avoid Set-Up corruption in field.
• Virtual Peripheral Support (V.P.S.): this mode allows to bootstrap from the parallel or serial ports and redirect Keyboard, Video, Floppy Disk on the serial/parallel ports before booting the OS. It is also possible to redirect any of these peripherals as default setting.
• Etherboot allows the system to boot up from a LAN connection for diskless operation.
