The Eurotech COM-1252 board is an integrated PC/104 single channel dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 bus interface module that supports full-function 100% concurrent and independent operation as a Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Controller (BC), or Bus Monitor (BM) terminal. The rugged, extended temparature range COM-1252 module is suitable for a variety of non mission critical military transformer coupled 1553-bus networks on aircraft, tanks and helicopters.

Satisfying all requirements of MIL-STD-1553B, this PC/104 interface card bases on a high-density FPGA chip that includes the bus controller. The communication engine of the bus controller offers automatic message handling, advanced time-stamping and message status indication. The 16-bit wide shared-memory-based host interface provides high speed data access to message buffer memory as well as other board resources containing extensive device maintenance and error-condition information.

Supporting up to 31 RTs, this module supports efficient handling of both bulk and periodic data using single buffer or a cyclic buffer transmission. In BC-mode the COM-1252 is capable of multi-frame processing with minimal host attention. As a full-featured BM the module provides the capability to monitor message validity, filter messages and monitor terminal health on all, or selected remote stations on the bus.
